Help support our Hope On The Horizon candidates.
Empowered by the faithful, guided by the Holy Spirit, CSM promises to continue to support our homeless brothers and sisters, only made possible with your support. This summer our Hope On The Horizon candidates will continue to be like Christ to those on the streets of Downtown Vancouver. Help us continue to bring hope to the streets and donate to ensure that programs like Hope On The Horizon can continue.
Andrew Heakes
Hello! My name is Andrew. This summer I have done many things, I went on a pilgrimage to discern with the Dominicans in Quebec City and had couple weeks living in Combermere, ON at Madonna House. In August I am returning to Vancouver where I live, to participate for 2 and half weeks in Hope on the Horizon.
I am an experienced street missionary as I have been a regular volunteer with CSM's Sunday outreach for a bit more than 2 years.
I am looking forward to helping lead from the behind while in HotH, I value service commitments and bringing the Gospel to others, however most of all I try to be a man of prayer. I hope I carry these values to the other volunteers. I would love to be impressed upon by the other the YA's commitment to Jesus as well.

Lily Dauriac
Hello!! My name is Lily Dauriac, I was born in France and moved to Massachusetts when I was 10 years old. When I was 17, I moved to Montréal to pursue my university studies at Concordia University. I study Philosophy and Theology.
During the Summer of 2023, I spent 2 months in Philadelphia doing homeless outreach with the Catholic ministry called Christ in the City. With a team, we walked the same street in downtown Philadelphia everyday for 2 months building relationships with the homeless. It was a transformative experience to encounter the face of Jesus in the poor. I found so much joy spending time with my friends on the street. It was the greatest gift to love and be loved by them.
My heart yearns for the streets again!
Why do I want to do this mission ???
In the words of Servant of God Helena Kmieć:
"All the skills I have, the abilities I acquire, the talents I develop, are not to serve me, but are there for me to use to help others. The greatest gift is that I know God and I can’t keep it to myself, I have to spread it! If I can help someone, make someone smile, make them happier, maybe teach them something, I want to do it!”
Please pray for me and this mission. I will be praying for all of you!

Danielle Fomalin
My name is Danielle Fomalin and I am raising $650 to join the upcoming 2024 CSM summer outreach event, Hope on the Horizon from Aug 6-21. This is a great opportunity for me to experience reaching out to our brothers and sisters in the streets with God all the way through prayers and service to them. It's especially bringing the love of Jesus to those who really needed them the most in these hard times. It benefits me enormously as I will learn from things that i will in turn tell and use to help other people and that means a great success to my sponsors too, you might not be present on this wonderful mission but all your prayers and financial donations are a huge step to me and I am very much grateful for we are all putting it out for good cause. My name is Vincent, and I am looking to raise $650 to join the 2024 CSM summer outreach event, Hope on the Horizon from Aug 6-21. I've joined this program because of two important scriptures: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"(Matthew 7:12) and "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Hey! Im Neil, an anointed child whom God has blessed with favour to experience Him daily! I'm excited to learn from the camp ministers, fellow participants, and the whole journey in being a part of "Hope on the Horizon" and am looking to raise funds to make this outreach possible. I experienced Christ intimately through my darkest period 3 years ago, and ever since there's Jesus who has begun to live inside of me. All I desire to do is live the Gospel and share out of the abundant Love I have received through Christ. Working with people who are on the streets in Seattle, looking for their next breakthrough, I have realised Jesus is THE WAY to get my friends off the streets. Hello there! My name is Marissa and I will be a part of the CSM HotH program this year. I have volunteered with outreach on Sundays a few times this year and every experience I’ve had has been a beautiful opportunity to see the face of Christ among the vulnerable in our community. For our actions are not only out of charity but of justice as we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Our street friends deserve all the opportunity and all the prayers that you and I have been so fortunate to receive. It is now our time to give. I truly have felt called by the Holy Spirit to serve this summer and am excited to share this journey with CSM!

Madiba Burks Magara
Hello my name is Madiba and I am from Uganda!! I am 19 years old and I joined the program because in such a secularized society it is more than important to show others the light, Jesus Christ. Our Catholic faith is so precious and has worked wonders for the world. As a Catholic myself I have an obligation to share this precious gift our Lord has left us with. I hope to be able to help people understand that Jesus’ message by showing the same charity and patience he offers to us.
